You have senior React Native experience in-house. Someone who's shipped production RN apps and understands the ecosystem deeply.
Your timeline is relaxed. Learning curves are acceptable when you have time for 3-6 months of ramping up.
Your app is straightforward. CRUD apps, simple utilities, and MVPs with limited complexity.
You're already moving fast. Velocity is good and code quality isn't deteriorating.

Six Warning Signs You Need Help

These are the patterns we see in companies that waited too long:

1. Senior Engineers Keep Leaving Mid-Project

High turnover is often a symptom of architectural problems. Engineers don't want to work in codebases that fight them.

2. Development Has Slowed to a Crawl

Features that should take a week take a month. Every change breaks something else. More time debugging than building. This is a death spiral.

3. You're Attempting a Complex Migration

Migrations (native → RN, old RN → New Architecture, brownfield) look simple in planning and explode in execution. Every migration has hidden dependencies.

4. Performance Problems You Can't Diagnose

The app is slow, but nobody can figure out why. React Native performance problems are subtle — bridge bottlenecks, re-render cascades, architectural decisions made early.

[ ] Timeline reality: Can we absorb a learning curve, or need day-one velocity?
[ ] Platform requirements: Features requiring deep native integration?

[ ] Maintenance horizon: Who maintains this in 2-5 years?

Technical Readiness

[ ] Architecture plan: State management, navigation, project structure defined?
[ ] Native exposure: Where will we need native modules?
[ ] CI/CD strategy: Mobile-specific CI/CD planned?
[ ] Testing approach: Unit, integration, E2E strategy defined?

Resource Reality

[ ] Budget clarity: Mobile-specific costs scoped (devices, services, certificates)?
[ ] Timeline buffer: Learning curve and mobile-specific delays included?
[ ] Support plan: Expertise available when problems arise?

Scoring:

10+ checks: You're ready. Execute with confidence.
6-9 checks: Proceed with caution. Address gaps first.
<6 checks: Pause. More planning needed.
